IdentiKey

A key you mint yourself. No company issues it. No company can take it back.

Working

What it removes

For most people, “who are you?” is answered by an advertising company. That company can close the account. The commons cannot depend on them. A person on the network has to be able to show up without being admitted, and leave without being expelled.

IdentiKey is that key. You create it. You hold it. If you lose it, guardians you chose help you recover it. They do not keep a copy for you. Recovery is not custody.

Where it sits

On Lightning Mesh, hello.mesh can hold an IdentiKey, including a 24-word recovery phrase that stays with you. The same key is meant to travel. Leaving one mesh does not leave the key behind.

The product site is identikey.io. The protocol is public. This page is the place it occupies in the commons, not a second product site.
